Ascendi introduced an innovative road safety solution applying a non-slip coloured coating, with improved friction characteristics, reducing braking distance and reducing the likelihood of skidding on the A13 – connection to Coimbra, a very accident-prone zone.

 

In an initial stage, vertical signage was reinforced, resulting in a 54% decrease in the number of accidents recorded at the site, as well as a decrease in the number of accidents with victims (-67%) and victims (-80%). At a second stage, the non-slip coating was applied and since then there have been no accidents in the intervened area.
