Norte concession was awarded to Ascendi Norte, Auto Estradas do Norte, S.A. in July 1999 through an international public tender, and is one of the largest integrated road projects ever developed in Portugal.

It connects the coastline with the mountainous interior of Portugal and the Spanish border, throughout 179km of a magnificent scenery.

The Concession includes project, construction, financing, operating and maintenance of hard-tolled roads for a period of 30 years.
