Ascendi concludes the construction of Pinhal Interior Subconcession

Ascendi opened the last section of the A13 to traffic.

On 24 April 2014, Ascendi opened the last section of the A13 to traffic. This section is around 8km and links the Condeixa Interchange to the Coimbra Sul Interchange.
Having completed this final stretch, Ascendi has concluded the works on the Pinhal Interior Motorway, which provides a continuous link between Coimbra and Tomar (link to A23), covering approximately 100 km. The most distinguishing feature of road is the number of large-scale bridges and overpasses, the most emblematic of which is the Bridge over Rio Ceira, which, standing at 140m, is one of the tallest in its class and has the biggest central span (250m) ever built in Portugal.

The traffic at A13 is subject to toll payment through an exclusively electronic means. For more information regarding this system – forms of payment, values charged, among others – please click here.
